About the Speaker
HALTER PROJECT was founded in 2013 to help owners of pets, equines backyard and commercial livestock be better prepared for local emergencies and large-scale disasters. The program provides free resources, sponsored trainings, equipment and grants to rural fire agencies and organizations, and is a FEMA Individual and Community Preparedness and Award recipient.
Founder/Director Julie Atwood is a longtime Sonoma County resident, horsewoman/cat person, and a volunteer with multiple regional and state Disaster Response teams. She is a frequent presenter at regional, national, and international conferences.
